Violent Jewelry Theft as Luxembourg Police Tackle Spate of Crimes
Luxembourg Police responded to a series of unrelated criminal incidents on Monday, including a violent jewelry theft, a burglary, and the discovery of stolen goods after a traffic accident.
A dramatic theft took place at Place de l’Étoile in Luxembourg City, where a thief forcibly snatched a gold necklace from a victim’s neck before fleeing the scene. Officers swiftly tracked down and arrested the suspect, who was brought before an examining magistrate on Tuesday.

Later that evening, police intervened in an attempted break-in at a bar in the Grund district. A suspect was caught inside the premises and found with stolen goods and burglary tools. The individual was also presented to an examining magistrate following directives from the public prosecutor’s office.
Meanwhile, in the early hours in Hunsdorf, officers responding to a traffic accident on Rue de Steinsel discovered two individuals fleeing the scene. Though initially suspected of being intoxicated, the pair were found in possession of stolen items. Investigators later determined that the vehicle they were using had been stolen in a previous burglary. Both suspects were arrested on orders from the public prosecutor.
Police continue to investigate all three incidents.
