Blue Origin Sets Up European Base in Luxembourg, Boosting Space Sector Presence

American aerospace giant Blue Origin has officially announced the launch of its
European office in Luxembourg, marking a strategic move to expand its operations
across the continent.

The announcement followed a high-level meeting on Thursday between Luxembourg’s
Minister of the Economy, SME, Energy and Tourism, Lex Delles, and Blue Origin
executives David Limp, CEO, and Tim Collins, Vice President of Global Supply Chain.
Blue Origin’s new Luxembourg base will serve as a central hub for managing its
European supply chain operations and supporting its growth on the continent. The
company plans to leverage the office to enhance development in commercial space
services, including lunar transport, in-space mobility, and the sustainable use of space-
based resources.

This development aligns with Luxembourg’s SpaceResources.lu initiative, which
promotes the peaceful exploration and responsible exploitation of extraterrestrial
materials for the benefit of humanity. The initiative has attracted several high-profile
space firms in recent years, solidifying Luxembourg’s status as a key player in the
global space economy.

Founded in 2000 by Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Blue Origin has become a major force in the
aerospace industry. The company focuses on creating reusable space launch systems
and advanced propulsion technologies. Its leading projects include New Glenn, a
heavy-lift reusable rocket, and Blue Moon, a lunar lander selected by NASA for its
Artemis program aiming to return humans to the Moon.

Minister Lex Delles welcomed the move, stating “The arrival of Blue Origin in Luxembourg marks a major milestone for our space ecosystem. This choice confirms the attractiveness of our regulatory framework and our vision for innovation and sustainable space exploration.
