Delayed Parcels? Here’s What’s Going On
If you’re still waiting for an international parcel to arrive, a technical snag between Post
Luxembourg and the Customs and Excise Agency may be to blame.
According to information shared with the Luxembourg Times, a messaging error
between the two systems has held up a number of overseas packages currently stuck in
the customs clearance process.
While Post Luxembourg hasn’t confirmed how long the issue has been ongoing, reports
indicate that one or more documents may have been late to their destination since the
beginning of June.
The glitch has been traced to a minor IT message transmission error, according to a
postal staff who disclosed that the service is actively working with customs officials to
clear the backlog. So far, the issue has affected what Post called a “two-digit number of
shipments.”
“This is not a cybersecurity breach or system vulnerability,” a spokesperson clarified,
adding that customers impacted by the delay have been notified and will receive further
updates as the situation evolves.
