Luxembourg City to Host July Outdoor Screenings for Women’s Euro Matches
After the enthusiastic turnout for Euro 2024 screenings, Luxembourg City is set to bring
the football spirit back to Glacis, this time in support of the Women’s European
Championship.
Mayor Lydie Polfer confirmed on Wednesday that a massive 28-square-metre screen
will once again be installed at the Glacis car park to showcase the tournament’s most
exciting fixtures. The championship, which runs from 2 to 27 July in Switzerland, will
have its decisive stages broadcast live in the capital for local fans to enjoy together.
Kicking off with the quarter-finals from 16 to 18 July, the city’s outdoor screenings will
continue through the semi-finals on 22 and 23 July, and wrap up with the highly
anticipated final on 27 July.
The initiative builds on the recent success of the men’s Euro 2024 public viewings,
aiming to give women’s football similar visibility and communal celebration. Fans can
expect a lively atmosphere, uniting residents and visitors in shared support of the
women’s game.
