EFAMA Appoints First All-Female Leadership Duo, Names Micaela Forelli as Vice-President

In a landmark moment for the European asset management sector, Micaela Forelli,
CEO of M&G Investments Europe, has been elected vice-president of EFAMA, the
European Fund and Asset Management Association. Her appointment, confirmed at
EFAMA’s annual general meeting on 20 June in Valletta, Malta, signals a new era for
the influential Brussels-based lobbying body.

Forelli will serve a two-year term alongside the newly elected president, Samantha
Ricciardi, CEO of Santander Asset Management. This historic pairing marks the first
time EFAMA will be led by an all-female executive team, a notable shift in an industry
still working toward greater gender parity at the top.

Forelli took the helm of M&G Investments Europe in 2023 but has been with the firm
since 2010. During her tenure, she has headed the Global Financial Institutions team
and led European Distribution. Before joining M&G, she spent three years as a sales
director with Fidelity International, gaining early experience that shaped her strategic
leadership style.

She steps into the vice-president role at EFAMA following the departure of Massimo
Greco, who served as Vice-Chair Asset Management EMEA at JP Morgan Asset
Management.

EFAMA, which advocates on behalf of 29 national associations and more than 50 asset
management firms across Europe, plays a central role in shaping EU financial policy.
The election of Forelli and Ricciardi is being hailed as a progressive step forward for
representation and diversity within the sector.

Their leadership is expected to guide the association through complex regulatory
debates and market evolution as Europe’s investment landscape continues to shift.
